Meet Sugar Land Pediatric Dentist Dr. Hunter

dr-hunterDr. Nasha Hunter earned her DDS degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. and completed two years of post-graduate training in pediatric dentistry at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York. As a board certified pediatric dentist with almost ten years of experience practicing dentistry, Dr. Hunter is uniquely qualified to care for your child. She is passionate about working with infants, children and teens. She has earned a reputation for exceptional patient management skills with the ability to put her patients at ease, allowing for a positive dental experience for both parent and child.

At Sweetpea Smiles, we are strong believers in the idea that there is no better dental care for children than the care provided by a board certified pediatric dentist. The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry certifies pediatric dentists based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral healthcare for infants, kids and teens and patients with special needs. Certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry provides assurance to the public that the pediatric dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills and experience required for the delivery of quality patient care. Board certified pediatric dentists are intensively trained for years to provide comprehensive, preventive and restorative dental care specifically focused on infants, toddlers, kids and teenagers.

For Your Comfort & Convenience

We strive to make your child’s dental visits as comfortable and convenient as possible, so we offer a number of amenities that make our office a different kind of pediatric dental office:

  • Flatscreen TVs above Treatment Chairs
  • Video Games, Toys and Books
  • Complimentary Beverages
  • Emergency Dental Appointments
  • In-House Payment Plans & Most Insurance Accepted

We attempt to schedule appointments at your convenience and whenever time is available. Preschool children and school children requiring extensive dental treatment are best seen in the morning when they are fresher and well rested because they tend to be more cooperative, which allows for a more comfortable experience for the child. In order to allow the best possible care for our patients, we reserve a specific time for your child and make every effort to see your child as scheduled.

We offer same-day treatment to help you fit dental care into your family’s busy schedule. Whenever possible, we will begin a treatment plan the same day your child is seen. Our family-block appointments also make it easy for families with two or more children to make time for dental visits. Siblings can be seen at the same time or back-to-back.

As your Sugar Land kids’ emergency dentist, we understand the need for emergencies to be seen promptly. We reserve openings in our weekday schedule to accommodate such emergencies. For after-hour emergencies, please call our office and follow the prompts to leave Dr. Hunter a message. Your message will be responded to in a timely manner.

Special Needs Dentistry

disabled boyEvery child is special at Sweetpea Smiles! We see children of all ages, including those with physical or mental impairments. Our office is physically accessible for all of our patients, and we are trained to provide treatment to children with all sorts of unique needs.

A Clean & Safe Practice

We act in accordance with American Dental Association (ADA) guidelines for cleanliness and safety. We also make every effort to reduce patient exposure to radiation by using digital X-rays, which emit up to 90% less radiation than traditional X-rays. We also use an abdominal shield and a thyroid (neck) collar on all patients during X-rays. Digital X-rays are a valuable aid in oral healthcare for patients. At Sweetpea Smiles, digital X-rays are only recommended for your child when deemed necessary for diagnosis and treatment.
